Reconstruction is a traditional architectural task. However, those who transform a building change more than just the structure. Remodeling also has a social dimension and raises questions: about the reasons behind it, the losers and the beneficiaries of the change.

ARCH+ addresses the theme of reconstruction in a double issue. The first part is dedicated to the politics and ethics of reconstruction – we develop the editorial design and interpret the theme visually.

Making reconstruction visible
The magazine showcases reconstruction projects from six architectural firms across six European countries. This practical perspective is complemented by essays and interviews with political stakeholders.

In the editorial design of the issue, we capture the essence of reconstruction by varying the typefaces within the headlines. To organise the diverse content, we assign colours to the six architectural perspectives. These colours highlight introductory statements, project profiles, and individual image pages, indicating their connection.
