In 2026, the Frankfurt RheinMain region becomes World Design Capital. The international programme by the World Design Organization (WDO) takes place in Germany for the first time. With its theme Design for Democracy. Atmospheres for a Better Life., the region convinced the international jury during the bidding process.

Over the course of the year, more than 2,000 projects and events bring together a wide range of stakeholders. Stan Hema supports the World Design Capital as a strategic partner and is responsible for brand development, corporate design and the conception of the design and campaign system.

The objective was to create a brand that motivates people to realise their own ideas. The brand strategy invites participation and encourages engagement. The design and campaign system builds on this foundation, providing maximum flexibility for independent projects and DIY formats while maintaining a recognisable brand identity.

In this way, a previously little-known international programme in Germany becomes a brand that contributes to the long-term development of the region.
