Hospital vacancies given the best of care

Business

With four locations, 3,300 beds and over 23,000 employees, the Charité in Berlin is one of the largest university hospitals in Europe. But numbers alone are not enough when a company enters the proverbial ‘war for talent’, especially in times of a shortage of skilled workers. That is why the Charité Administrative Office for Human Resources Marketing and Digitization turned to Stan Hema to jointly refine the university hospital’s employer brand.

An integrated approach was quickly agreed upon, taking into account both recruitment and existing staff. The first steps of the cooperation were a new careers website for the Human Resources Marketing and Digitization Administrative Office. Vacancies and an introduction to the world of health professions at the Charité formed the basis for it. By the end of 2022, the portal had been expanded to include landing pages for doctors, scientists and for training and studies.

The UI design, tonality and functionality were tailored to the needs of the applicants in all areas. The employer brand gives them an authentic image of the Charité as a potential employer, structured information and personal insights from employees. This allows applicants to make an informed decision and get started on the simplified and digitised application process.

‘Our new careers page is the result of an interactive and creative exchange with Stan Hema, which focused on the needs of users,’ recalls Susanne Nitzsche, Head of the Administrative Office for Human Resources Marketing and Digitization at the Charité. ‘We jointly set priorities, created content and brought many internal stakeholders on board with the project,’ she adds.

‘Short communication channels, the quick response time for adjustments and the expert advice repeatedly made us aware of the added value we gained by having access to the expertise of Stan Hema,’ Nitzsche continues.

We look forward to continuing the next stage of development with her.
